T.A. Cook Christmas Donation 2013: Multiple Non-Profit Projects Are Pleased with Support
In addition to the company’s monetary donations, employees for the first time made donations in kind.
In the context of the „Operation Christmas Child“ drive, the staff in Berlin and Birmingham packed over 90 gift boxes to provide children in eastern Europe with Christmas joy. The teddy bears, toys, as well as practical things like pencil cases, scarves and hats were some of the childrens’ first Christmas gift. T.A. Cook added financially to the staff’s donations and sponsored the transport of the gifts to eastern Europe.
The company also made a monetary donation in 2013 to the Sibongile Day and Night Care Centre in Capetown. Here, employees and volunteers care for a total of 36 mentally and physically handicapped children between the ages of two and twelve years old. And with success – the life expectancy of the children has risen, and they are more accepted by society. The Centre is exclusively funded by donations, and will continue to receive support from T.A. Cook in the future.
The US T.A. Cook office in Raleigh additionally donated to the Mariposa School for Children with Autism, which is specialized in teaching autistic children. The establishment is already well-known internationally for their innovative methods, and their good reputation. Families from all over the USA and even worldwide move to Raleigh solely for the school.
Before Christmas, T.A. Cook made a spur-of-the-moment donation to the Caritas’ Philippines emergency relief fund. Following the swath of destruction the typhoon „Haiyan“ left behind in the Philippines on the 8th of November, 2013, Caritas provided the disaster area with emergency accomodation, food, and medical support.
