Paul Adams, Maintenance Strategy Manager, Global Manufacture and Supply, GSK

My current role as an internal consultant involves deploying leading edge maintenance management to GlaxoSmithKline manufacturing sites worldwide, covering products as diverse as toothpaste, medicines and fine chemicals.

I have been in my present role at GSK for ten years. It followed on from a variety of senior operational engineering management/lead roles in GSK factories in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, both in UK and in Puerto Rico, including a role as a lean/six sigma specialist.

My earlier career was spent in plant engineering and capital project management in the Chemicals and Food sectors with Du Pont and Unilever respectively.

I have a first degree in Mechanical Engineering, and am a Chartered Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, and I'm a Certified maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), I also have an MBA from Warwick University.
