Steve has 36 years’ experience within the power generation industry, initially with CEGB and later, National Power, Innogy and RWE npower. He has experience in power plant operations, engineering, maintenance and performance development.
He was appointed to his current position in January 2017. His management roles have included Engineering Manager at Didcot A (2000MW coal fired power station), Station Manager at Pembroke Power Station (2200MW CCGT power plant), Head of Performance Development and Head of Technical Services
Steve has a degree in Energy Technology from the University of Aston in Birmingham and is a Fellow of the IET and a Chartered Engineer.

Jani Keränen, Group Expert Power Plants, OMV
Jani is responsible for long term planning, budgeting and management of the service contracts with gas turbine OEMs. He has an extensive technical expertise of major mechanical plant equipment.
From 2007 to 2011 he worked at a OMV as Project Manager in development of CCPP Haiming, a 850 MW Combined Cycle Power plant project in Bavaria Germany (not executed due to market conditions).
Before that Jani worked with VA TECH HYDRO/Siemens Power Generation as System Engineer for HRSG’s and Erection and Commissioning Supervisor for 300MW steam turbine.
Jani graduated in 2003 with M.Sc. (Eng.) in Energy Technology form Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland.

Christopher Proudfoot, Head of Generation Planning and Logistics, Centrica
For the last 5 years he has managed a team responsible for the management of a large generation and demand portfolio at Centrica.
Throughout his career, he has been at the heart of day-today operations of the electricity system, spending 18 years at National Grid, including 10 years in operational control rooms.
His expertise lies in the technical and commercial interaction of generation with the National Grid. In 2012 Christopher was the sole UK Industry representative to a European Expert Committee on Electricity Balancing.
Mark Shipley, Senior Risk Consultant, Marsh
Prior to joining Marsh, he held positions with large power generation companies in the UK and Canada, implementing engineering risk management processes in order to manage vulnerability of plant to large loss events and demonstration of safety risk.
Mark joined Marsh in 2015 with his principal role being risk engineering support, working mainly on operational power plants. Mark is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and also licensed as a Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada.
