Graduate Event Marketing Assistant

We are looking to recruit a graduate Event Marketing Assistant to join our busy international events department. We are looking for a strong communicator and team player on a one year contract basis to cover maternity leave.

The role

You will receive on-the-job training in all aspects of event marketing to eventually handle your own event marketing campaigns.

Within a matter of months you will be responsible for:

  • Building a comprehensive marketing plan per event
  • Implementing digital and traditional internal marketing campaigns to existing and externally acquired contacts
  • Researching and implementing external marketing campaigns through liaison with media partners
  • Implementing a content marketing strategy and social media marketing strategy for each event
  • Ensuring that each event achieves exposure through the use of online event listings
  • Liaising with speakers and sponsors to maximise their potential to promote the event
  • Utilising and administering the CRM system to ensure campaigns are correctly targeted and to secure the correct categorisation of captured data and qualified leads
  • Carrying out methods of capturing new, qualified data
  • Working closely with the sales team to ensure the conversion of qualified leads
  • Working on SEO for the event websites
  • Managing marketing budgets to safeguard return on investment
  • Analysing results of marketing activities, ensuring that KPIs are met


Essential Attributes

  • Deadline driven, and organised; able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
  • A confident and friendly manner with an ability to work both autonomously and together with others
  • Initiative, flexibility and accuracy within a busy team environment
  • A working or social knowledge of social media platforms, such as LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Collaborative; able to work with people at all levels of an organisation
  • IT literate, and conversant in all current Office software packages (word, excel, ppt etc)

Advantageous (but not essential) Attributes

  • An understanding or knowledge of any of the industry sectors we work within (eg Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Manufacturing, Utilities, Power Generation, Defence, Telecommunications, Professional Services, Retail, Transportation/Logistics, Finance, Corporate Real Estate, ) and/or technology/IT issues
  • Experience/knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Adwords and SEO techniques
  • A history of infographic design, typo3 knowledge and html fluency
